What are Dental Implants?
Oradell implant dentist Dr. Howard Perlmutter has studied advanced dental implant restoration techniques in Lisbon, Portugal, and he may be able to offer you prosthetic tooth replacement. If you have lost a tooth or are faced with the possibility of a denture to replace your single tooth or entire upper or lower arch, Dr. Perlmutter may be able to provide you with a renewed or new smile in just a few visits.

Dental implants represent an outstanding tooth replacement option. Bergenfield-area patients who receive dental implants enjoy their strength, durability and inconspicuousness.
At Oradell Family Dental, we place the restorations that rest on top of a dental implant. This restoration, a porcelain dental crown, is what your friends and family will see when you grace them with your new, beautiful smile.
If you live in the Bergenfield, New Jersey area and you're considering dental implants to replace a missing tooth or teeth, please call Oradell Family Dental today at (201) 384-9292.
How Dental Implants Work
There are a number of tooth replacement options available to you, including traditional dentures. But dental implants provide a number of advantages, including durability, attractiveness and the ability to stymie and reverse the loss of jawbone density associated with losing a tooth.
The full dental implant procedure can take several months. An oral surgeon will place a titanium dental implant in your jaw. Over the course of four to six months, the process of osseointegration will integrate the implant into your jaw. Once this process is complete, the implant will be firmly rooted, providing you with the stability you need in a tooth replacement.
After osseointegration finishes and your implant is fully rooted, our dentists enter the picture. We will then place the dental restoration- a porcelain dental crown- on top of the abutment that is placed inside the implant.
The dental crown is the visible part of the dental implant structure. It is, as noted, made out of durable, attractive porcelain. The strength of this material explains some measure of the durability of the entire dental implant.
What Results Can I Expect from Dental Implants?
The end result will be a new tooth that is essentially indistinguishable from your natural teeth. You will be able to smile without self-consciousness and eat without worry. So long as you maintain the implant with frequent brushing, daily flossing and regular visits to the dentist, your implant can last the rest of your life.
